Security Risk Management Process
Mike is the founder of Oversight, and has more than 40 years of security experiences in both public and private sectors. He graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point and competed post graduate studies at National Intelligence University. Mike served 20 years in the US Army in both Infantry and Intelligence roles, before transitioning into private sector security management. Mike worked as the deputy GM for Control Risks Bogota office, and later became the head of security for gold mining giant AngloGold Ashanti - including serving as VP of Global Security managing all aspects of security for their 21 gold mines and global exploration. Most recently Mike spend 4 years as Director of Security, Logistics and Camp Administration for a gold mining project in Bucaramanga, Colombia, completing a turnaround of the department and achieving a "Best in Class" external rating by Control Risks audit. In 2009 Mike formed Oversight, proving consultancy to global clients as well as working several years in roles as head of security for Colombia Energy Resources, Erickson Inc. and Minesa (a Mubadala company). Mike has 18+ years living and working in Latin America and Africa and is considered a thought leader in security risk management.
